"2003 heralded a new venue, with the Swaps Ball being held for the first time at the Old Billingsgate Market. The evening proved to be a great success and despite the challenge of 'Trading Places', we were able to raise £153,000 for the Barts Cancer Center of Excellence.
We have decided to build on this success and keep the 2004 Swaps Ball firmly in the City and the 2004 Swaps Ball will again be held at the Old Billingsgate Market, on Friday October 1st 2004.
This year we have chosen to support CHASE Hospice Care for Children and in particular, their Children's hospice,
Christopher's. The hospice provides respite, pallative and end-of-life-care for children up to the age of 19.
CHASE also provide specialist nursing care, play therapies and practical help for life-limited children and their families,
and just as importantly, provide emotional support to families, that have recently lost a child.
At present CHASE are supporting over 160 families and hope to increase this to over 300 with the generous support
of the Swaps Ball."
